Today, Shahrukh Khan is known as Bollywood’s superstar and King Khan. But Vinod Rathod, who became the voice of the romance king on screen in the beginning of his career, was a favourite of many film stars. Vinod Rathod’s voice was the one in the song ‘Koi Na Koi Chahiye Pyar Karne Wala’ which made Shahrukh’s entry in the film ‘Deewana’ reach the hearts of the audience. Shahrukh Khan had a fight with actor Rishi Kapoor over this song.
Actually, the magic of Vinod Rathod’s voice was such that by 1992, he had earned recognition for his voice. In the initial days, he was considered to be Rishi Kapoor’s screen voice. He also sang a song ‘Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi’ in Rishi’s film Deewana. Rishi was very happy about this song and believed that Vinod had sung the song in this film for him only.
But the matter was something else, Vinod Rathore had also sung the song ‘Koi Na Koi Chahiye Pyar Karne Wala’ for the new boy Shah Rukh Khan who had recently debuted.
Shahrukh also wanted the song ‘Aisi Deewangi’ to be made his screen debut. But Rishi was not ready for this at all.
During one of his interviews, Vinod Rathore told that both the star actors had a fight with each other over this song. The two had stopped talking to each other for a long time.
After this, producer Shabnam made peace between the two. After this, Shabnam decided that Aisi Deewangi will be filmed on Shahrukh and Kumar Sanu will be the voice of Rishi.
All the songs of the film ‘Deewana’ were loved by the audience. This bumper hit film proved to be important in the careers of both Shah Rukh and Rishi, but the songs sung by Vinod Rathod are still on the lips of the audience.
